Ikea wins the award for consistentcy

Lots of brands do brilliant work online these days but I have to take my hat off to Ikea for consistency. It seems someone at Ikea or their agency just 'get it' and encourage great work.

The latest piece of work uses the time lapse camera technique they have been building on for a while and it basically follows two diner parties but the films are played in reverse. Simple yet captivating.

Here is an incomplete list of the great work I have seen, some of it is just an evolution of an idea over time but there are a few things they all have in common:

1. They are simple ideas
2. They are all beautifully executed
3. They all link back directly and seamlessley to the product - but in a very natural way

You Tube Interactive Game

I just saw this on Digg - you can play Street Fighter II on You tube with a series of linked video's that respond to interactive buttons in the video.

This is very cool, a bit clunky but once you press the key - it loads up another video (there are 100 videos on the sequence) and it then shows your attack. If you fail to press a button in a certain time then the opponent video plays.

Really nice application of interactive video technology, and lots of hard work - over 500k+ views in less than 4 days tells me its worked.

Charity 2.0 Innovation

It is always surprising why charities so not do more with interactive media and web 2.0 bandwagon - every day I run the gauntlet on Tottenham Court road of the Charity Muggers so its nice to see an intelligent approach by one charity - Save the Children UK.

They have created an new innovative, interactive web project, where you can explore the community of Kingsville in Liberia.

For the first time, people donating to The Sunday Times Christmas Appeal will be able to interact directly with the community of Kingsville. They’ll see films by television presenter Davina McCall’s, take a tour around the run-down clinic and school, and look inside a family home. There are also slideshows, 360 degree panoramic images, a discussion forum, and profile pages.

The website This is Kingsville will run alongside articles in The Sunday Times magazine from Sunday, 30 November.
Every week until Christmas, new films featuring Davina, photographs, slideshows and stories will be uploaded.
